Clarabelle is a dairy cow, she was rescued by Edgar’s Mission in 2014. Sadly, the sheer scale of the unnatural milk production modern dairy cows endure poses serious animal welfare issues for gentle cows like Clarabelle. The average lifespan of a dairy cow in Australia is 6–7years, whereas a cow’s natural life span is around 20 years. Fortunately, the team at Edgar’s Mission was able to rescue Clarabelle and she now enjoys the freedom and sunshine grazing the open paddocks at the farm sanctuary.
